6th July 2005 Windsurfing: Golf Course Car park, Ynyslas Wind Direction: NW Wind Stength: 22-25 knots Surf / Sea State: 2-3 foot messy surf Air Temperature: 14ºC Sea Temperature: 14ºC Weather: Sunny spells and squally showers Max Speed: 29.4 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 24.0 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise) Perfection... I went to work this morning, but the wind kept picking up so by aout 11.30m I decided enough was enough and headed off to the beach. Thankfully this time the wind didn't die off as I did so and in fact I managed to get the best of the days wind with a nice 22-25 knots so could get out with my 5m and little wave board. To start with I was a little underpowered at times, but once up and planing had plenty of oompf to get out through the waves and head upwind. The wind picked up more later so that I was perfectly maxed out for most of the session. Chris, Dunk and Larry were out kiting at times and Simon joined me windsurfing, but got a little overpowered towards the end with his 5.2m sail. I didn't really go for anything too demanding, just some nice big jumps and some nice snappy ackside wave-rides... All in all a lovely day on my wave kit. |
